On July 12, Western Window Systems employees assisted nearly 200 people in need during a volunteer event at ICM Food & Clothing Bank, a charitable organization in Phoenix that provides emergency services to working poor families, seniors, the physically and mentally challenged, and veterans.

“I work hard at work, but that’s not always enough. I like to give something back, and that’s a good thing about Western – they teach you that,” says Brayan Rangle, a drafter in the CAD department. “Otherwise, you’re working, working, working, and then you go home. You lose the human aspect of it.”

Volunteers assisted with tasks including sorting through bags of donated clothing, assembling packages of hygiene products, and loading and pushing carts full of food out to families’ vehicles. They also brought several bags of donations to the ICM facility, which is always in need of clothing, shoes, diapers, toiletries, and protein-rich foods.

“I volunteer because it keeps me busy and helps the needy,” says research and development technician Fernando Reyes. “We keep going to help everyone. One team.”

The ICM event was Western Window Systems’ second charity assistance event of 2019. During June, as part of parent company PGT Innovations’ “Storm Out Summer Hunger” food drive, employees raised $100 in cash and gathered 496 items for Desert Mission Food Bank in Phoenix.
This is the second year Western Window Systems has partnered with ICM.
