Western Window Systems is excited to be part of a renovation project benefiting a Phoenix charity for which the company has a special place in its heart, the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Already the beneficiary of multiple visits from the Western Volunteers team, which prepared nutritious meals for the house’s temporary residents, the Ronald McDonald House at 501 East Roanoke Avenue near downtown Phoenix will undergo a 10-week renovation that will include custom-made windows and door systems donated by Western Window Systems.
The $500,000 renovation project for the building, the oldest of three Ronald McDonald House Charities homes in Phoenix, is being spearheaded by Phoenix International Raceway, through Phoenix Raceway Charities. The renovation is expected to begin in mid-August and be completed in time for the Can-Am 500, the semifinal race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sunday, November 13, at Phoenix International Raceway.
“It was a no-brainer when we were given the opportunity to contribute our products to the renovation of such a vital component of our community,” says Scott Gates, president and CEO of Western Window Systems. “For families facing very difficult obstacles, Ronald McDonald House is invaluable, keeping parents close to the hospital and helping them direct their energies to what’s most important — the recovery of their children.”
The Roanoke House opened in 1985 with 16 guest rooms and was expanded by 10 bedrooms in 1995 and grew to 45 bedrooms in 2005. Parents and families of children with severe health issues, including premature birth, cancer, heart problems, and respiratory challenges, stay at the house while the young patients receive treatment at nearby Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The average length of stay is 16 days.
Western Window Systems’ door systems and windows will be utilized by Phoenix-based custom furniture maker and interior design firm Daniel Germani Designs to transform the building into a vibrant living space filled with natural light, making the Roanoke House as hospitable as possible during a trying time for families with ailing children.
Western Window Systems joins a slew of Phoenix-area businesses, including Aline Architecture, Clyde Hardware, and Reyes Remodeling and Repair, to contribute products or services to such an important charity.
