Antonio De Alba
Day shift shop employee Antonio De Alba’s middle name is “Bad Ass,”
according to his manager, Karl Price.
As a lead in the receiving department, De Alba arrives as early as 3 a.m. to receive metal from vendors. He started working for Western Window Systems in December 2001, and “he has never missed a delivery, to my knowledge,” Price says.
When it comes to partnership and working with his team, De Alba “always strives for perfection, and leads by example,” Price says. “He does a great job keeping his workers busy and on task.”
After an 18-year tenure, De Alba doesn’t need much direction, but asks for it when needed. He also constantly takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and communicates with other departments, whether that’s giving people in the saw area an ETA on when they will receive the metal they need or meticulously inspecting the metal recycling bins to ensure they contain the correct material for the best payback possible.
“He does so many exceptional things for Western,” Price says. “He’s amazing.”
Congratulations, Antonio De Alba, shop employee of the year on day shift for 2019!
