Western Window Systems’ employees and employee family members set tables, took food orders, and served hot meals to nearly 200 people Tuesday, January 20, at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix. The international nonprofit organization’s mission is to serve the poor.

“We come to St. Vincent’s regularly,” says application support specialist Mike Faulkner, who started Western Volunteers, the volunteer program at Western Window Systems, in 2013. “It’s close to us and their schedule fits with ours.”

John Dirksen, senior project manager and CAD department manager, has been attending Western Volunteer events since the group started.

“When Mike [Faulkner] started up the program, I was all in,” says Dirksen, who served chicken and turkey dinners to over thirty families at the most recent St. Vincent de Paul event. “I get something different out of each experience.”
